Allay doesn't use just any green light. It emits a precise narrow band of natural light discovered by migraine researchers at Harvard Medical School to be gentler on your eyes than everyday light. But the magic doesn't end there. Unlike a phone or computer screen, there is no color mixing or potential interference involved — it's just pure, flicker-free light you can't get anywhere else.
It’s best for Allay to be the only light you see. That means that you should try to block all other light from windows, overhead lights, and screens as much as possible.
Spend as long as you’d like with your Allay light. Be sure to use Allay for at least 30 minutes. For the full soothing experience, however, spend two hours or more in its glow.
Whenever you are in light – outdoor or indoor – your eyes take in bands of light from the entire spectrum of light (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet). Allay emits only one very precise narrow band of natural light from within that spectrum. That means that when you’re using your lamp, you’re not seeing any light that your eyes don’t already take in every day; you’re merely seeing one tiny part of it.
